The Golden Girls Pop-Up Restaurant Experience: Step into the world of The Golden Girls with food, drinks, and nostalgia.
Golden Girls Pop-Up Restaurant Reservations
A Golden Girls-themed restaurant is opening in NYC. It’s not just for photo-ops: it also offers food and drink.
Each ticket includes a 90-minute reservation, your choice of Golden main and slice of cheesecake (with the option to add on sides, desserts and beverages). Additional events, panels and merch drops will be available throughout the experience.
The Golden Girls Kitchen
The pop-up restaurant, which was inspired by the show’s kitchen, lanai, living room and Blanche’s boudoir, is open for multiple 90-minute seatings each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as well as Saturday and Sunday. Each ticket includes a Golden Girls-inspired main dish and slice of cheesecake (which can be upgraded to vegan Sperheoven Krispies). Additional sides, drinks and merchandise are available for purchase on site.
The experience is curated by Bucket Listers, whose President of Experiences, Derek Berry, has orchestrated such nostalgic pop-ups as Saved by the Max, Good Burger and Malibu Barbie Cafe. Tickets start at $40 and include a 90-minute reservation, a Golden Girls-inspired entree and a slice of cheesecake. After dinner, guests can sip on cocktails at the Rusty Anchor Bar or capture photos at iconic photo moments like the girls’ cozy kitchen and lanai. The experience also offers a recurring Drag Brunch featuring local performers on the last Sunday of each month.
Shady Pines
Shady Pines is a beautiful RV park nestled near two wildlife refuges and offers great lake access for swimming, skiing and fishing. This family friendly community also includes a 55+ manufactured home community for resort style year round living.
Speakeasy bars are all the rage in Melbourne these days, but if you want to visit one that is a bit more down-to-earth, head to Shady Pines Saloon. This hidden gem is a throwback to the wild west, with mounted animal heads, vintage beer trays, dim lighting and Johnny Cash playing on the stereo.
The duo behind Shady Pines Media started out by collaborating on project projects for cheap or free, but soon started hosting events and the community began to grow. Then Covid came along and they were forced to put video production on hold, but not without starting a bold new community radio station that aims to amplify underrepresented music during the pandemic. They are passionate about bringing you the freshest in local artists and creating a platform for creativity.
St. Olaf Sweets
Located on the lower level of Buntrock Commons, St. Olaf Sweets offers cookies, cakes, cupcakes, pies, sweet breads, bars and fudge. It is a great place to grab a quick snack or to have a good time with friends and family while listening to some chill music.
White, then 70, checked into the Governor’s Suite at the Archer House hotel in Northfield, Minn., in 1989 to film a reunion episode of “The Golden Girls.” She and co-star Rue McClanahan, who played Southern belle Blanche, were treated to a musical celebration of the Advent – Christmas – Epiphany season by five ensembles and the St. Olaf Orchestra.
The Bookstore features a variety of new and used textbooks, as well as Ole sweatshirts and T-shirts; gifts and jewelry; books for general reading and studying; health and personal care products; Scandinavian gifts and candy; greeting cards and more.
The Rusty Anchor Bar
After a run in Beverly Hills, The Golden Girls Kitchen is coming to New York City. Fans will be able to step into the sitcom’s world of 1980s Miami with the pop-up restaurant experience, which includes The Rusty Anchor Bar.
The fast-casual restaurant will serve meals and desserts inspired by the show, including Sophia’s Lasagna Al Forno, Rose Nylund’s Genurkenflurgen Cake, and more. The menu also features cocktails and mocktails crafted by a local NYC bartender.
Tickets start at $40 and include a 90-minute reservation, your choice of Golden Girl main, and a slice of cheesecake. Additional sides, desserts, beverages, and exclusive merch are available for purchase. The experience is the latest addition to Derek Berry’s list of television nostalgia pop-ups, which include Saved by the Max and Good Burger. The Golden Girls Kitchen is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m.
